my star-spangled banner: “charming spot, inspiring prospects”
this performance is a fishbowl
Dates TBD
my star-spangled banner is an installation exploring the nightmarish tyranny of the American two-party political system thriving on division, fear, and whiplash. Through live performance, projections, and activities that the audience can partake in and/or wander through, it creates a muted, facsimile environment depicting the positive feedback loops in our culture that strangle attempts to care for ourselves and each other collectively, and instead produce an ethos of division, fear, and protectionism.
This project is an experiment to test the results of softening our eyes, widening our vision, settling our nervous systems, and letting our imaginations wander in this fishbowl filled with outrageous ghastliness.
for posterity: proof of free will
Dates TBD
for posterity: proof of free will is a future oral history of the conclusion to the human race. It takes the form of a panel discussion, including Q and A with the audience. The panelists speak about their experiences and the larger human and planetary impacts of the collective decision to no longer reproduce, in a moment when runaway climate change was beginning to break down the stability of organized human civilization, and when the world had exactly reached the brink of nuclear apocalypse.
